National History Day: Southeast Regional Competition

The 2023 Southeast Regional National History Day in-person contest will take place on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 (junior & senior division) at Cape Fear Museum of History and Science. This year’s theme is Frontiers in History: People, Places, Ideas. The link to this year’s theme book may be found by clicking here. 

In this regional competition, students in grades 6-12 move beyond the classroom to bring history to life. Based on in-depth research, student projects take the form of historical paper, documentary, performance, exhibit or web page. 

Important Dates:
December 5, 2022 – Registration opens at 9 am
February 17, 2023 – Registration closes at 11:59 pm; Students must virtually submit their projects before registration closes

Fee: Cape Fear Museum will waive entry fees for all students for the 2023 Southeast Regional contest.
