Ready NHC: Businesses

Businesses are an important part of our community; they provide jobs and products for our citizens, and provide the basis for our local economy. Because they are such an important part of our lives, businesses need to be well prepared for disasters just as other segments of our community. Business leaders can obtain this goal through proper planning, training, and education of their staff and employees.

A small amount of time and money spent on disaster preparedness can pay enormous dividends after a disaster. Shortened production down times, less property damage, and quicker employee return times are just some of the benefits of pre-planning for emergencies.

New Hanover County Emergency Management is committed to helping businesses achieve disaster resistance. Businesses who are in need of assistance in planning for emergencies are encouraged to call New Hanover County Emergency Management at (910) 798-6900 to schedule a consultation.

Learn more about emergency preparedness planning for businesses on Ready.gov, and on FEMA’s website.
